Review: Lowrance iWay 250C - PC Mag

The "affordable" Lowrance iWay 250C automotive GPS system has been reviewed by PC Magazine. 'At $349 (list), the iWay 250C joins the crowded "shirt-pocket" GPS market with the lowest-priced unit available. It measures 3 by 4 by 1 inch and features the same 3.5-inch screen found on the iWay 350C. As you might suspect, the device's user interface is one shared by the entire Lowrance product line. Likewise, the iWay has most, but not all, of the features of its more expensive siblings, along with a few new surprises.

Unlike the 350C, which uses a 4GB hard drive for data storage/MP3s/pictures, the iWay 250C relies on a 2GB SD card to hold its U.S./Canadian maps and database of more than 4.5 million points of interest (POIs). Many products at the popular $399 price point use 1GB memory cards, and therefore typically hold just 1.2-1.6 million POIs.'
