2010-Maserati-GranTurismo-Convertible-Inside-Line.jpg

Inside Line have published their "First drive" review of the 2010 Maserati GranTurismo convertible. 'Unlike most convertible versions of modern coupes, the 2010 Maserati GranTurismo drophead was not engineered in parallel with the closed edition. Instead, Maserati says it wanted to concentrate on getting the coupe right before thinking about the convertible. Although this is undeniably a convertible version of the GranTurismo coupe rather than an entirely new model, it has been extensively reengineered and restyled to suit its al fresco role. Maserati has certainly taken the task seriously, producing what it claims to be the stiffest body shell in the class despite a long, 115.9-inch wheelbase.'

A review of the Maserati GranTurismo S supercar has been posted over at AutoExpress.co.uk. 'This car's comfort-oriented six-speed ZF auto transmission and increased performance should be a marriage madein heaven - but is it? It's nearly a year to the day since the GranTurismo S exploded on to the scene. At launch, the only gearbox on offer was the sequential robotised manual - a race-like transmission capable of swapping cogs in a rapid 100 milliseconds. However, it felt overly harsh on full-bore manual upshifts, and was a crude imitation in automatic mode. Which is where this new, more civilised six-speed gearbox comes in.'
