2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC Review - CNET

2011-Mitsubishi-Outlander-Sport-SE-AWC-CNET.jpg

CNET have published a review of the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE AWC. 'Despite sharing a name with the Ralliart and Evolution's AWC system, the all-wheel drive setup in the Outlander Sport is much less sophisticated than either. There are three modes available to the user, selectable via a knob near the shifter. The first mode is 2WD, which sends all available torque to the front wheels. This is the mode you'll want to use to maximize fuel economy in day-to-day use. When things get a bit slick, users can select the second mode 4WD--or more specifically, 4WD Auto--which retains its front-wheel bias but allows the system to send nominal amounts of torque to the rear wheels in the event of front-wheel slip. We weren't able to observe a noticeable difference in handling between the 2WD and 4WD Auto modes, even in the middle of a torrential downpour. That's not to say that 4WD is useless; rather that 2WD is competent enough for most situations.'

2011 Mitsubishi RVR Road Test - National Post

By Admin on February 21, 2011 12:31 AM | No Comments

2011-Mitsubishi-RVR-National-Post.jpg

The National Post have published a review of the 2011 Mitsubishi RVR. 'Inside, the Mitsubishi is not quite so stylish. It's fairly roomy (though a tad narrow) and it is better made -- superior materials, tighter panel gaps, etc. -- but the actual gauge set and controls are typical Mitsubishi. That it is basic doesn't make it unworthy, however, as the various radio and air conditioning controls are easily read and manipulated. Ditto the large rotary knob controlling the upmarket SE 4WD tester's all-wheel-drive system -- just three positions and a little digital readout plainly displaying whether the RVR is in 2WD, 4WD or 4WD-locked mode. All very simple, yet all still very good.'

2010 Lancer GTS Review - The Truth About Cars

By Admin on November 3, 2010 1:30 PM | No Comments

2010-Lancer-GTS-TheTruthAboutCars.jpg

The Truth About Cars have published a review of the 2010 Lancer GTS. 'The Lancer GTS shares the Ralliart's and Evo's convervative, mildly upscale styling, sans Audified grille but mit ricerific wing spoiler and 18-inch multi-spoke alloys. When introduced for the 2008 model year the Lancer was one of the more attractive cars in the segment, with more than a hint of Volvo S40. Today it looks either timeless or mildly dated, take your pick, while staking out the middle ground between the trendy, overstyled Mazda3 and the homely, understyled Subaru Impreza. Select the $150 "rotor glow" orange paint if you desire to attract eyeballs.'

2010 Mitsubishi Outlander LS Road Test - CAR & SUV

By Admin on September 19, 2010 4:04 AM | No Comments

2010-Mitsubishi-Outlander-LS-CAR-and-SUV.jpg

CAR & SUV have published a review of the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander LS. 'Visually the LS, like all Outlanders has a more traditional boxy SUV shape when compared to the highly curved new-school SUVs like the Hyundai ix35 and the Mazda CX-7. Classic good looks aside, it's only under close inspection that the LS differs from its more expensive siblings. Mitsubishi's 'jet fighter' grille, first used on the Lancer then on the facelifted Outlander range, hasn't filtered down to the LS model. While this leaves it a facelift behind other Outlanders the overall styling on the LS is modern and gives it genuine presence. Tough black plastic mouldings protect the underside and it rolls on 16" steel wheels with silver covers. Overall, it's a smart looking machine with its high beltline, tinted rear glass and subtle chrome touches. With the exception of the steel wheels there is nothing about the Outlander LS that really screams 'base model'.

2011 Mitsubishi i-Miev Review - Search Chicago

2011-Mitsubishi i-Miev-Search-Chicago.jpg

A review of the 2011 Mitsubishi i-Miev electric car has been posted over at Search Chicago. 'Sizing the i-MiEV up in the driveway, it looked like the future of automobiles - at least the practical future. The style of the cold-capsule-shaped body grows on you after the shock subsides. Inside, the tall exterior profile provides ample headroom and enough space for four adults. Grocery bags fit in the cargo area, accessible via the rear hatch. Curiously, there's no hood, but that's not really a surprise because there is also no engine. One properly calls it a "motor" because it's electric, and it's under the trunk. In keeping with the fact that there's no engine, there is also no fuel tank. Instead, under-floor modules hold 88 lithium-ion cells that release up 330 volts to the motor.'

Mitsubishi Pajero Review - PaulTan

By Admin on August 25, 2010 1:31 PM | No Comments

Mitsubishi-Pajero-PaulTan.jpg

PaulTan have published a review of the fourth-generation Mitsubishi Pajero. 'In terms of dimensions, the Pajero has about the same footprint as the previous gen Prado (latest version just out this year), but is narrower than the over 2m wide Discovery. Compared to the Pajero Sport, the Pajero is 205 mm longer and 60 mm wider, so we're looking at one big 4X4 here. Approach and departure angles may be alien terms to the urban SUV owner, but this is a Pajero, and it's worth mentioning - 36.6 degrees approach angle, 22.5 breakover and 25 departure are useful off the beaten path. For comparison, the air suspended Discovery 4 measures in at 36.2, 27.3 and 29.6.'

Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2D Diamond Road Test - Coventry Telegraph

Mitsubish-Outlander-2-2D-Diamond-Coventry-Telegraph.jpg

The Coventry Telegraph have published a review of the Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2D Diamond SUV. 'The interior is very spacious and the large sunroof allows the cabin to be flooded with light. All passengers are treated to plenty of legroom and comfort levels are very good all round. Another factor that cannot fail to impress is how well the Outlander handles. Despite its size, it manoeuvred extremely efficiently and was actually quite agile in busy congested city centre traffic. The excellent all-round visibility and additional parking sensors can help make any driver look accomplished as they squeeze the vehicle into a tight space with ease.

2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart Review - CNET

By Admin on January 29, 2010 1:09 PM | No Comments

2010-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Sportback-Ralliart-CNET.jpg

A review of the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart has been posted over at CNET. 'The Lancer Sportback benefits from its all-wheel-drive in the corners, which is not as sophisticated as that found in the Lancer Evo, but is still very advanced. We appreciated the grip afforded on rain-slick roads, as the car began to slide a little in a turn, but got right back in line with a little pressure on the gas pedal. The all-wheel-drive system uses differentials on both axles and in the center of the car, allowing a wide range of torque distribution to get power to the wheels that need it most. And in its rally-bred style, all-wheel-drive can be set for asphalt, gravel, or snow, limiting the amount of wheel slip allowed as you get onto more difficult surfaces.'

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart - CNET

By Admin on August 23, 2009 10:08 PM | No Comments
2009-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Ralliart.jpg

A review of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart has been posted over at CNET.com. 'Based on Mitsubishi's humble Lancer platform, the Lancer Ralliart adds a turbo, all-wheel-drive, and, best of all, the Sport Shift Transmission, a twin clutch automated manual, also found in the new Evo MR. Unlike the Evo MR's 291 horsepower, the Lancer Ralliart's engine only makes 237 horsepower. Torque numbers are 300 foot-pounds for the Evo MR, and 253 foot-pounds for the Lancer Ralliart. And the Lancer Ralliart's all-wheel-drive system comes from the previous generation Evo, so it lacks advanced features such as active yaw control. That reduction in performance tech also equals about a $10,000 reduction in price.'

Mitsubishi iMiEV Review - Register Hardware

Mitsubishi-iMiEV.jpg

The Register Hardware have published a review of the Mitsubishi iMiEV five-door electric car. 'The iMiEV's exterior is frankly something of a love or hate affair, though our test car was hardly flattered by all the advertising and information logos that Mitsubishi had plastered all over it. Of course, the basic shape, with its rather bulbous cabin and extremely short front and rear overhangs, has nothing to do with the specific needs of electric propulsion since it's carried over from the petrol-driven Mitsubishi 'i' city car, a vehicle not available in the UK.'
