Renault-Wind-The-Independent.jpg

The Independent have published a review of the Renault Wind coupé-cabriolet. 'So the rump is short and pert. And any residual visual bulk dictated by roof stowage is cleverly made into a styling feature, specifically a pair of buttresses tapering rearwards and downwards from the back of the cabin. Then there's the roof itself, a construction of eureka-moment cleverness. It's a one-piece panel in lightweight black plastic and glass, which hinges at the base of its rear pillars so it can do a complete backflip over the boot space before the rear cover closes over it.'

Renault-Megane-R26-R-The-Truth-About-Cars.jpg

The Truth About Cars have published a review of the Renault Mégane R26.R hatchback. 'The Mégane R26.R is simply unmistakable, even if it's a Renault hatchback. Clock the 18-inch alloys and Piet Mondrian-worthy geometric decals in red ink. And there's the Lunar Grey paint contrasting against the carbon fiber hood: a not so subtle reminder this three-door is far more than the tall roofline and dorky C-pillar implies. Rear spoiler aside, there's simply no way to get around the Mégane R26.R's hatchback roots. But this isn't a rice boy poseur: resting against the near weightless polycarbonate rear/quarter windows gives the kinds of goose bumps that only come from a real race car.'

2009-Renault-Clio-RS-F1-Team-R27.jpg

A review of the 2009 Renault Clio RS F1 Team R27 hatchback has been posted over at Car Advice. 'High performance front-wheel drive cars often suffer from torque steer, but not the Clio, the chassis is too well balanced for any of that to interfere with the fun that can be had behind the wheel of this hatch. For those of you obsessed about fuel economy in a light hatch (its always going to be frugal when compared with larger cars and SUVs) I ended up with a combined average of 11.9 litres/100km but that was driving with complete disregard for economic rationality.'

Renaultsport-Megane-250.jpg

A review of the Renaultsport Mégane 250 coupé has been posted over at the The Indendent. 'So, what exactly is the Mégane 250? It is a very fast and sleek machine designed for proper driving fun, and powered by the most muscular variation yet, at 250bhp, of Renault's 2.0-litre, turbocharged engine. But even a glorified hot hatchback such as this could head off in one of two directions. The first is one which Renault does particularly well, the hardcore enthusiast's car at the top of its class for interaction and entertainment. The previous-generation Mégane R26 was the ultimate example, with a stripped-out, ultra-light, motorsport-flavoured R26.R version for the truly committed. The second is the rapid, civilised GT car in a compact package, fun and capable but not too demanding: a Volkswagen Golf GTI is a good example.'

Renault-Clio-GT-1-6-VVT-128.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Renault Clio GT 1.6 VVT 128. 'As the name suggests, the Clio GT 128 pumps out 128bhp from its 1.6L petrol engine. This doesn't make it super-quick, but if you keep the revs high, you can motor along at a brisk pace. On the plus side, the chassis just loves to be pushed hard and rewards the committed driver. And although when you are pushing hard you might find yourself wising you were in a Clio 200, the fact that this GT 128 manages to slide into insurance group 7E makes it potentially more attractive to many.

Renault-Clio.jpg

Auto Express have published a review of the Renault Clio. 'A facelift four years after the Clio's initial launch in 2005 has introduced a more modern appearance that takes many of its styling cues from the New Megane, At the front there's a reprofiled nose that features larger, swept back headlamps, while the rear gets a new bumper and tailights. As before there's a choice of three and five-door hatchbacks together with a versatile Sport Tourer estate. There are six trim levels to choose from - Extreme, Expression, Dynamique, GT, Privilege and Initiale. At the top of the range is the scorching Renaultsport 200, identified by its muscular flared wheelarches, black grille surround and bodykit.'
